Gatwick Airport about to announce that it finally has a new CIO: Airport Informer Exclusive

[Airport Informer] Gatwick Airport CEO Stewart Wingate will soon announce to the media that Michael Ibbitson will shortly be joining the GIP owned airport company in May as their new Chief Information Officer,  GAL staff learnt the news on Tuesday.

He will be a replacement for the outgoing CIO Stuart Birrell who left the airport last September to join F1 Racing’s Mclaren Group based in Woking

Ibbitson leaves behind the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) where he is currently IT Director and brings together nine IT teams, implementing a customer service improvement plan with the aim of turning Abu Dhabi into a world class 5 star airport.

Michael Ibbitson is an member of the Airports Council international World IT Committee and is also a member of the SITA Customer Advisory Board.

Rowland Hayler will continue as the interim CIO until Ibbitson’s arrival.
