Heathrow airport braced for Easter holiday rush

More than a quarter more passengers are expected to pass through Heathrow over the two-week Easter holidays, compared to a normal fortnight.

More than a quarter more passengers are expected to pass through Heathrow over the two-week Easter holidays, compared to a normal fortnight.

The UK hub airport predicts 3.4 million passengers will visit, compared to 2.7 million over an average fortnight. It says daily numbers will peak this Friday at 220,000 as people head home or jet abroad for guaranteed sunshine.

Heathrow predicts that more than 1.6 million passengers will visit in the first week of the Easter school holidays starting on Friday – its busiest seven days of the year so far……
