The National Air Safety Board has started an investigation into the incident, a spokesman stated. Researchers are talking with the Delta pilots to find out what exactly what happened.

The incident, in aviation terms is known as a ‘runway incursion’, as described above has not led to accidents. The aircraft involved was an Airbus 330 of Delta Airlines. There were passengers on board and the aircraft concerened had just landed.

According to the Schiphol Air Traffic Control, there was no question of an acute and dangerous situation. “The plane involved, that had just landed, was still very far away,” said a spokeswoman.

Air Traffic control is also investigating the incident, this is standard procedure, said the spokeswoman.

The Safety Board receives an average of once a year a report of a runway incursion. Then always an investigation.
