[Mornng Sentianel] A Flight from Portland was diverted to Boston’s Logan Airport

Passengers on a commercial flight from Portland to Philadelphia had to restrain a passenger after he tried to enter the jet’s cockpit this afternoon.

Air Wisconson Flight 3801, which is operated by U.S. Airways Express, had to be diverted to Boston’s Logan Airport this afternoon when the man tried to open the cabin door to the area where the pilots sit.

The plane made an emergency landing at the airport at 4:32 p.m.

Massachusetts state police boarded the plane and took 40-year-old Michael J. Ensalaco of Mooreville, N.C., into custody,

Ensalaco has been charged with interfering with a flight crew.

“At this time, there does not appear to be any nexus to terrorism,” state police said in a prepared statement. Ensalaco could be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Friday, police said.

Airport spokesman Phil Orlandella said the plane was diverted after other passengers restrained the unruly man.
